El Dia de La Raza, a cultural staple in the Mexican community, highlights important concepts in Mexican history. Recently, many progressive groups have started celebrating the day as a day of resistance against colonialism.
La Raza Justice Movement, CRECEN, Pastors in Action, Aztec Dance Group Mitotiani and other community groups will participate as one contingent of approximately ten others in the parade. Our contingent will denounce the abuses of 287(g) and will call for the Harris County Commissioner’s Court to vote against a new agreement regarding 287(g).
